Manama: The role of Indian workers in various sectors is commendable, said Jamal Abdul Aziz Al Alawi, CEO of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) and chairman of the National Committee for the Prevention of Human Trafficking. He made the remarks during a meeting with Indian Ambassador Piyush Srivastava. He said the law of the land was such as to protect the rights of workers and employers. He spoke about the facilities provided by the country to investors and business people, and the steps taken to improve the working environment and protect workers.
He said the role of the embassy in working with the relevant government agencies was important to strengthen bilateral ties. The Indian Ambassador thanked the LMRA for its care to the workers and the facilities provided to investors and businesses. He also expressed India’s readiness to co-operate with the Authority. The two sides agreed to strengthen joint work on the labor market and to form bilateral committees and expert technical labor committees.
