Team India has been announced for the two-match T20 International series against Ireland starting from June 26.The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a 17-member team.
This team has been selected by the All India Selection Committee. Hardik Pandya has been given the captaincy of the team in the absence of regular captain Rohit Sharma, vice-captain KL Rahul and stand-in captain Rishabh Pant.
The rest of the team selected for the tour of Ireland have the same names, who are playing against South Africa in the current T20 series.
However, Rishabh Pant has not got a place in this, as he will be a part of the Test match against England.
In such a situation, Sanju Samson has been selected as the wicketkeeper.Apart from this, there is a return of middle order batsman Suryakumar Yadav, who was injured during IPL 2022.
Hardik Pandya has got the responsibility of captaincy, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the vice-captain.Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the senior most player and Dinesh Karthik is also included in the senior players, but Hardik Pandya has been made the captain of the team because he is the vice-captain of Team India in the ongoing five-match T20 series against South Africa. Under the captaincy, Gujarat Titans have won the IPL.
