Bodour Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), recently paid a visit to the Al Heera Beach, a newly opened beachfront destination located in the Al Fisht area of Sharjah, which was officially opened in December 2022. Additionally, she also visited the final constructions of the Serai Wing, Bait Khalid Bin Ibrahim, a premier heritage-inspired luxury development located in the Heart of Sharjah, which was originally the residence of pearl merchant Khalid Bin Ibrahim over a century ago. This project offers an unparalleled experience for those who appreciate luxury hospitality.
Accompanied by HE Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, Acting CEO of Shurooq, Bodour Al Qasimi toured the two destinations emphasising their significance in terms of Sharjah’s objectives to bolster its position as one of the world’s leading tourist and investment destinations. She remarked that both these projects, among others, support the emirate’s inclusive ecosystem, and offer entrepreneurs and investors with attractive opportunities to launch and expand their businesses in Sharjah.
Al Heera Beach
On Bodour Al Qasimi’s visit to Al Heera Beach, the longest beach project in Al Fisht area, Sharjah City, stretching over 3.5 km, overlooking the Arabian Gulf, she toured the facilities and commercial units that include a fully equipped gym for men and women, a selection of restaurants and cafes, as well as sports and entertainment amenities suitable for visitors of all age groups.
Serai Wing, Bait Khalid Bin Ibrahim
The Chairperson of Shurooq also surveyed their final construction phase at the Serai Wing, Bait Khalid Bin Ibrahim project, a modern 12-key boutique wing, an extension of The Chedi Al Bait Sharjah, and stressed the importance of investments that enhance the authenticity in historic and heritage buildings, and aid in highlighting aspects of how people lived in the past.
Bodour Al Qasimi commended those working at the project for their exemplary efforts and attention to preserving its century-old monumental architecture all the way down to the finest details, while also enhancing the locations with creative modern design, giving visitors a unique experience that blends the aesthetics and authenticity of the past with the majesty and magnificence of the present.
The history of the Khalid bin Ibrahim House dates back to the 20th century when it was the home of a former pearl merchant, and is one of the heritage structures located in the “Heart of Sharjah” area. The house reflects the aesthetic of traditional architecture and design of homes in the UAE, and the Emirate of Sharjah in particular. It implements many architectural elements that are an essential part of Emirati culture and its civilizational heritage. By investing in these heritage sites, Shurooq aims to preserve the culture while attracting investor interest in those that have a passion for historical locations.
