New Delhi: A large portion of the road in Delhi’s Janakpuri caved in. However, no one has been reported injured in the incident. The authorities have put up barricades around the area. The incident led to traffic jam in the area. The road has been completely damaged. Its visuals are going viral on social media.
The children were going to school at the time of the incident. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far. At present, the PWD (Public Works Department) team has reached the spot and has barricaded the road from all sides. Heavy traffic jam was witnessed in the area due to the formation of a huge pothole in the middle of the road, police said. Since then, barricading of the sunken part of the road was done. Visuals of the dilapidated portion of the Janakpuri road flooded social media platforms since morning.
One of the main reasons behind the incident was heavy rain. However, the sudden collapse of such a large section of the road raises questions about the quality of the road constructed. The concerned department has been informed about the incident to get the repair work done.
