New Delhi: This time IIT Mumbai has got a place in the top 150 universities of the world. As per the information QS World University Rankings 2024 has been released. Significantly, in this, rankings are given to universities around the world. After evaluating the institutes around the world on different scales, it is given a score. The ranking is prepared on the basis of this score. The latest ranking has been released on Tuesday, in this ranking IIT Bombay, an Indian institute has also made it to the top 150 universities in the world. This time IIT Bombay has got 149th position in this ranking. After this, the second Indian institute is IIT Delhi, which has been given 197th rank. According to the information, this is the first time in the last 8 years, when an Indian institute has made it to the top 150. Earlier in the year 2016, IISc Bangalore got 147th rank.
However, there has been a significant drop in the rank of IISc Bangalore as compared to last year. While last year the institute was ranked 155, this year it has been ranked 225. This time 11 institutes of India have made it to the top 500 institutes of the world. IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IISc Bangalore are followed by IIT Kharagpur at 271, IIT Kanpur at 278, IIT Madras at 285, IIT Guwahati at 364, IIT Roorkee at 369, Delhi University at 407 and Anna University at 427.
