According to media reports, there were two dams near the port city of Derna, which were broken due to the storm and flood. The height of one of these dams was 230 feet. This dam was destroyed first. According to reports, these dams were not maintained since 2002. The whereabouts of 123 soldiers engaged in the rescue operation is also not known. This is the reason why now even the army seems helpless. The selected airports present in the country are not capable of landing any heavy or cargo aircraft there.
