Guwahati: Assam CM Himanta Vishwa Sharma has accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of sharing the wrong map of India. Taking aim at the Congress, he claimed that the North-East region was missing from a map of India shared by the party on social media. On the other hand, Congress MP from Assam Gaurav Gogoi immediately hit back on Sharma’s allegation. He asked the Chief Minister about land deals done by companies linked to his family and claimed that Sharma was avoiding answering these questions. There is a war of words going on between Gogoi and Sharma over the alleged credit subsidy of Rs 10 crore given by the Central Government under a scheme to Himanta Sharma’s wife’s company. Gogoi expressed apprehension that his account on social media platform X might have been banned.
However, no official response has been given by social media. Himanta Sharma shared a screenshot of an animated video from Congress’s official X handle, which features cartoon characters resembling Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi. There is a map in which the North-East part is not visible. Sharma said that it seems that Congress has secretly made a deal to sell the entire land of the North-East to a neighboring country. The caption of the screenshot features an imaginary dialogue between Modi and Rahul inspired by the popular dialogue Mere Paas Maa Hai from the 1975 Bollywood film Deewaar.
Meanwhile, while questioning Sharma about his family’s land deals, Gogoi said that it is ironic to hear Chief Minister Himanta Vishwa Sharma talking about land deals. This is exactly the same issue in which he is avoiding answering in the dealings of companies related to the family. He also wanted to know how much agricultural land has been purchased by these companies.
