Bengaluru: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has described the BJP-JDS alliance as politics of compromise. He said that Congress will perform well in Karnataka in the Lok Sabha elections. Taking aim at the BJP over the possible alliance with Janata Dal-Secular, he said that the ruling party at the Center is resorting to the politics of compromise. He made this comment after some leaders and workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party joined the Congress. Former councilors L Srinivas, Anjanappa, H Suresh, Venkata Swamy Naidu, Narayan, Ramu, Balanna, Kabadi Babu and M Nagaraj joined the Congress on Friday. Those who joined Congress are considered close to former minister R Ashok.
Shivkumar said that I was very confident about our numbers in the assembly elections, now I am saying that we will win many more seats in the Lok Sabha and BBMP elections.
Talking about the possible alliance of BJP and Janata Dal-Secular (JDS), Shivakumar said that the condition of BJP in the state is bad and it is joining hands with those who have betrayed them. Shivakumar said that they betrayed each other. They are doing compromise politics. Janata Dal-secular leader HD Kumaraswamy had earlier said that talks have taken place between his party and BJP regarding alliance but there has been no talk on seat sharing. Senior BJP leader B.S. Yediyurappa said that discussions on joining hands with Janata Dal (Secular) in Karnataka for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections are still going on and the central leadership will take the final decision on it.
