            During the workshop, participants will learn about the college application process and the art of preparing a college essay.  Banking basics will be presented about the positives and negatives of debt.  An in-depth discussion will examine the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the CSS forms completed by students to determine their eligibility for need-based aid.

            Speakers for the workshop are:

  • Emily Bloom of Athena College Advisors, AICEP;
  • Representatives from Valley Bank of Englewood & Tenafly; and
  • Phyllis Kesslen from Bergen Family Center.

“We are delighted to welcome Emily Bloom, Phyllis Kesslen, and staff from Valley Bank to provide vital information to college-bound students.  At a time when the cost of higher education is growing exponentially, young people and their families need to become familiar with the college application process and the expenses they will incur in the future,” said Dr. Shelly Wimpfheimer, Executive Director, The Community Chest of Eastern Bergen County.
