Dosa is a South Indian dish which most people like to eat. As delicious as it is to eat, it is equally healthy and light. Perhaps this is the reason why people like to make it a part of their breakfast till dinner. However, eating it outside every time is not a healthy option. If you want, you can make it yourself at home also.
Pan not getting hot: Some women immediately start pouring the batter on the gas and spreading it after turning on the gas. But this causes all the batter to stick to the pan. You should take special care that the pan should neither be too hot nor cold. To check if the pan is hot enough, do this little test. Sprinkle some water on top. The water should boil immediately but not so much that it produces too much steam. If so, then you can pour the batter on it and spread it.
Not greasing the pan: This is a small mistake, but due to this your dosa is not cooked properly. You do not need to put a lot of oil on your pan. Before you make the dosa, just put a few drops on the pan and spread it with the help of half a chopped onion or a paper towel. This rule is especially true for a nonstick pan that doesn’t require grease. After this you pour the batter on the pan.
Batter not fermenting properly: It is very important for the dosa batter to ferment properly. You must have noticed that when Dosa is made on the pan, small holes are visible in it and it gets cooked well. But if these holes are not visible when you pour your batter on the pan, then it means that your batter has not fermented properly. This type of batter does not make good dosa. Not only this, it can also cause the dosa to stick to the pan.
