President Draupadi Murmu gave National Service Scheme awards to 52 persons

New Delhi: President Draupadi Murmu presented the National Service Scheme Awards for 2020-21 at Rashtrapati Bhavan. These awards were given to 52 persons for their contribution in social services. The persons to whom Smt. Murmu presented these awards included Dr. Ranveer Singh Chauhan, working at Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar University, Agra, Dr. Mithali Kathakatiya, NSS Program Officer, working at South Kamrup Girls College, Assam, Dr. Ranjana, NSS Program Officer, working at PG College, Chandigarh. Sharma, Dr. Malkiat Singh, Government Girls School, Himachal Pradesh, Dr. Raghavendra R, NSS Program Officer, Seshadripuram Degree College, Karnataka and other outstanding NSS officers, NSS volunteers, NSS units and universities, Plus two councils were rewarded under this scheme. Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur and Minister of State Nishith Pramanik participated in the award ceremony. 

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports presents the National Service Scheme Award to recognize distinguished contribution to voluntary social services. NSS is a Central Sector Program which was started in 1969. Its primary objective is to contribute to the personality development and character building of students and youth through voluntary efforts. The NSS Awards instituted by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports are awarded every year to NSS Volunteers, Program Officers, NSS Units and Universities, Plus Two Councils for their voluntary service contribution.
