Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee targeted the BJP and alleged that now the Modi government has crossed all limits to suppress the voice of Bengal. Ms Banerjee posted, Today is a dark, frightening day for democracy, a day when the BJP reveals its contempt for the people of Bengal, disregard for the rights of the poor and complete abandonment of democratic values. They, first of all, ruthlessly withheld vital funds meant for the poor of Bengal and when our delegation reached Delhi to peacefully protest and draw attention to the plight of our people, they were brutally treated first at Rajghat and then at Krishi Bhawan.
The Chief Minister said, Delhi Police, acting as the strong arm of the BJP, shamelessly misbehaved with our representatives, who were forcibly removed and taken away in police vans like common criminals, because they refused to speak truth to power.
