Thousands of people offered Tarpan and Pind Daan to their ancestors at various altar places in Gaya

On Friday, the ninth day of the 17-day Pitru Paksha Shraddha, which started from September 28, at Gayaji Tirtha, thousands of devotees performed Pind Daan and Shraddha rituals on Suryapad, Chandrapad, Ganeshpad, Sandhyagnipad, Avasandhyagnipad and Dadhichi Pad, wishing their ancestors to attain Rudra and Vishnu world.

Under the Tripartite Shraddha Vidhan, the devotees who came from different states of the country on Friday performed the rituals of Pind Daan and Shraddha Karma for their Kul Panda at the altar places of Suryapad, Chandrapad, Ganeshpad, Sandhyagnipad, Avasandhyagnipad and Dadhichi Pad located in 16 altar pavilions of Vishnupad temple premises. Pandaji Manilal Barik told that on Ashwin Krishna Paksha Saptami Tithi, Shraddha is performed at the altar places of 16 altars namely Suryapad, Chandrapad, Ganeshpad, Sandhyagnipad, Avasandhyagnipad and Dadhichipad. These altars are situated in the form of pillars in 16 altar pavilions. First of all, there is a tradition of offering Pind Daan on the Ganesh Pada altar. By offering Pind Daan here the ancestors attain Rudra Lok.

People performing Pind Daan attain the world of ancestors Brahma by performing Shraddha on the altar of Avasandhyagni Pad. By performing Shraddha on Sandhyagni and Dadhichi Pad, the Shraddha performer gets the fruits of the Yagya. By performing Shraddha on the lunar day, ancestors attain heaven.

Devotees visiting the temple, Pitru Paksha fair has started in Gayaji. During this time, the crowd at Gaya railway station is continuously increasing. Railways has opened a control room on Friday to control the crowd and to cooperate with the pilgrims coming from outside as well as the railway passengers. In this room, problems of railway passengers as well as Pind Daanis will be provided with every kind of facilities and their problems will be resolved. Railways has made public a control number at Gaya railway station.
