On Friday, the ninth day of the 17-day Pitru Paksha Shraddha, which started from September 28, at Gayaji Tirtha, thousands of devotees performed Pind Daan and Shraddha rituals on Suryapad, Chandrapad, Ganeshpad, Sandhyagnipad, Avasandhyagnipad and Dadhichi Pad, wishing their ancestors to attain Rudra and Vishnu world.
Under the Tripartite Shraddha Vidhan, the devotees who came from different states of the country on Friday performed the rituals of Pind Daan and Shraddha Karma for their Kul Panda at the altar places of Suryapad, Chandrapad, Ganeshpad, Sandhyagnipad, Avasandhyagnipad and Dadhichi Pad located in 16 altar pavilions of Vishnupad temple premises. These altars are situated in the form of pillars in 16 altar pavilions. First of all, there is a tradition of offering Pind Daan on the Ganesh Pada altar. People performing Pind Daan attain the world of ancestors Brahma by performing Shraddha on the altar of Avasandhyagni Pad. By performing Shraddha on Sandhyagni and Dadhichi Pad, the Shraddha performer gets the fruits of the Yagya. By performing Shraddha on the lunar day, ancestors attain heaven.
