Bhopal: The Central Election Committee meeting of Congress will be held in Delhi on Wednesday, October 18 to select candidates for the remaining 86 seats for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections. Before this, senior leaders of the party will first finalize the names of 21 MLAs as well as the candidates for 40 consecutive losing seats. A list of the party may come on Wednesday or Thursday. Let us tell you that Congress has declared 144 candidates in the first list. State Congress officials say that preliminary discussions have taken place regarding candidate selection on the remaining seats also. Tickets of six MLAs including former Assembly Speaker Narmada Prasad Prajapati have been canceled.
The seat of one MLA KP Singh has been changed from Pichhor to Shivpuri. The party has decided that there will be no change in the constituencies of MLAs. In the next list also, bets can be placed on new faces in place of some MLAs. Indications have also been given by the organization to the MLAs who are to contest the elections. At the same time, in places where there are two or more contenders, candidates will be selected giving priority to caste equations.
