Lucknow: The coordination between Samajwadi Party and Congress has been finalized in Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections. After the announcement of the candidates by Congress, now there was a discussion between SP President Akhilesh Yadav and Party General Secretary Shivpal Singh Yadav regarding declaring the alliance candidates. After this, Akhilesh Yadav met with Madhya Pradesh officials and ticket claimants. In the assembly elections held in late 2018 in Madhya Pradesh, SP had won the Bijawar seat, while finishing second on six seats. Its main fight was with BJP on the second position seats. Seven SP MLAs had won in the 2003 assembly elections. This time SP had asked for 10-12 seats under the alliance. On this issue, SP’s chief general secretary Prof. Several rounds of talks took place between Ram Gopal Yadav and Congress MP general secretary in-charge Randeep Surjewala.
According to sources, SP will be given seven seats while SP leaders have claimed on two more. At present, SP is preparing to seal the names of candidates on seven seats. It is believed that the names of the candidates will be announced by day after tomorrow.
