Rs 15 lakh 64 thousand 500 cash recovered during checking of vehicles in Raigarh

Raigarh:  On the instructions of Raigarh Collector Karthikeya Goyal and Senior Superintendent of Police Sadanand Kumar, the vehicles entering the district are being checked by the static monitoring team at the check post. In Satti Gudi Chowk of the city, Rs 2 lakh 64 thousand were recovered from one car, Rs 4 lakh from another car and Rs 9 lakh from the third car. The people in the car could not answer regarding the amount and as per the instructions of the Election Commission, the amount was seized and legal action was taken.

According to the information, during the joint action of FST team and Jutemill police under Jutemill police station area, the vehicles were found near Chhatamuda Chowk. During checking, Brezza vehicle number CG 13 AM 9487 was checked. On checking the back, the passenger Neeraj Agarwal, father Krishna Agarwal, 44 years resident of Sattiguri Chowk, Raigarh, was found carrying Rs 2 lakh 64 thousand 500 in the bag. Similarly, on checking Centro car number CG 04 MT 8453, cash of Rs 4,00,000 was recovered in the bag of Bablu Malik, father of Habib Malik, resident of Gaushala Paizmuda, District Sambalpur.

On checking another Tata Harrier car CG 13 AR 1594, Rs 9,00,000 cash was recovered in a bag near Ramesh Aggarwal, father of Vasudev Aggarwal, resident of Kodatrai. During interrogation, the concerned persons could not give any satisfactory answer regarding the cash and Nor were any valid documents presented. It should be noted that as per the guidelines of the Election Commission, proper documents will have to be presented while transporting property worth more than Rs 50,000. In view of the violation of the code of conduct, the police took action to confiscate the total cash of Rs 15,64,500 and proceed further as per the instructions of the Election Commission.
