Gwalior: While addressing the 125th foundation ceremony of Scindia School in Gwalior today, PM Narendra Modi said that the Central Government has reduced the burden of the next generation by taking decisions pending for decades. He was addressing the 125th foundation day celebration of Scindia School in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.
Governor Mangubhai Patel, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Jitendra Singh were also present. Addressing the function, Modi said that shortcuts may bring immediate benefits in a person’s life, but only long term thinking is beneficial in the end. He said that in 2014, when the country gave him the responsibility of Prime Minister, he had two options. Either work only for immediate gains or adopt a long term approach. He further said, he decided that he would work for them by keeping different deadlines. The government took many unprecedented decisions in a period of 10 years and cleared the pending decisions. There was a demand in the country to remove Article 370 in Kashmir for the last 60 years. The government removed it.
For the last 40 years, there was a demand to give One Rank One Pension to ex-servicemen, that was also done. There was a demand for GST for 40 years, this was also done. For decades, Muslim women were demanding a law against triple talaq, and that too was made by the present government.
A few weeks ago, a law for women’s reservation was made in the Lok Sabha and the Assembly. PM Modi said that there is such a long list of tasks that the whole night will pass. He said that if the government had not taken these decisions, the burden would have been on the coming generations. Addressing the youth, he said that the government has lightened the burden of the coming generation.
The government’s effort is to create a positive environment in the country for the young generation, in which there is no dearth of opportunities for them. He said that he has a special relationship with Gwalior for two reasons. Firstly, he is the MP of Kashi and the Scindia family has played a big role in serving Kashi. The Scindia family has built many ghats on the banks of Ganga and helped financially in the establishment of BHU. The second reason is that Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia is the son-in-law of Gujarat. He said that every student of the school should take a pledge that he will make every possible contribution in making India developed. He also referenced some of the school’s alumni, including Minister of State Jitendra Singh, singer Nitin Mukesh and film actor Salman Khan.
