Aam Aadmi Party won the MCD elections held in December 2022 and Shelly Oberoi was elected the new mayor.
This year the festival of Diwali is in November and Chhath Puja will take place 6 days after that. A large number of people from Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh live in Delhi, who celebrate the festival of Chhath.
