Racial discrimination against Indian business man in Australia; Dog feces poured on restaurant owner’s car

Melbourne: A Sikh man living in Australia has alleged that he has been racially targeted several times in recent months.The Sikh man told that he has been asked to go back to India. Jarnail Singh, who runs a restaurant in Hobart, Tasmania, said that dog feces has also been thrown on his car to harass him. According to the news of ‘Australian Broadcasting Corporation’, Jarnail Singh said that he is being continuously targeted for the last two or three months.

Jarnail Singh was quoted in the news as saying, “This has never happened to me before and it has been happening continuously for the last two-three months.” Singh told ‘ABC News’ on Tuesday, “When it comes to your house and especially when you are being called (targeted) by name, it becomes a huge mental stress.Something has to be done.”

Jarnail Singh said that first of all, dog feces was poured outside his house, on the door handle of his car, for four or five days continuously. He reportedly saw racist graffiti on walls along the way, telling him to “go home, Indian.”

Singh reported the matter to the police but without video evidence, little effort was made to find out who was responsible. Singh has lived in Australia for about 15 years, of which 10 years have been in Tasmania.Tasmania Police Commander Jason Elmer said in a statement that the incidents have been reported to police and are being investigated.
