Bhopal: Bharatiya Janata Party has demanded the Chief Election Commissioner, New Delhi to conduct re-polling in 16 polling stations of Ater assembly constituency of Bhind district. A BJP delegation has also submitted a memorandum in this regard to the Chief Electoral Officer of Madhya Pradesh. Dr. Arvind Singh Bhadauria, BJP candidate from Ater in Bhind district, has sent a list of 16 polling stations to the Chief Election Commissioner, New Delhi, demanding re-polling there. A BJP delegation, in a memorandum submitted to the Chief Electoral Officer of Madhya Pradesh, has said that the voting for Madhya Pradesh Assembly was completed on November 17. In Ater assembly constituency of Bhind district, polling station numbers 11, 12 Khadit, 17, 41 Niwari, 48 Badpura, 49 Badpuri, 55, 67, 69, 70, 71 Kishupura, 103 Manepura, 169 Pithampura, 170, 171, 211 Bisalpura. The election process was influenced by the posted presiding officers and their parties in collusion with Congress workers.
There was an incident of booth capturing at the said polling stations, which was immediately complained to the Election Commission by the BJP workers, but no proper action was taken. Even the presiding officers of the respective polling stations did not resolve these complaints and the common voter was discouraged from voting outside the polling station itself. This act is a criminal act under Section 128, 129, 135 (a) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 and comes under the category of cognizable offence.
There was lack of police force at many polling stations and no proper action was taken on complaints. In one polling station, a voter registered his vote in the EVM more than once, video of which is also there, at many polling stations, Congress workers have carried out booth capturing by influencing the presiding officers. In such a situation, the voting in all the above polling stations should be declared void and a notification should be issued for re-polling. State Convenor of Bharatiya Janata Party Law Cell, Shri Manoj Dwivedi, State Co-Convenor Shri Ashok Vishwakarma and other officials were present in the delegation that submitted the memorandum.
