Mumbai: After the Maratha movement in Maharashtra, the mobilization of Other Backward Classes is increasing the concern of the Eknath Shinde government. On the other hand, Eknath Shinde government’s minister Chhagan Bhujbal is busy mobilizing the OBC communities. Bhujbal, who was an ally of the government along with Ajit Pawar, has now adopted a rebellious attitude. He said that if his resignation is sought on the basis of his stand against Maratha reservation, he is ready to resign from ministerial and legislative posts.
In fact, Chhagan Bhujbal is continuously opposing the fact that the people of Maratha community should be given Kunbi caste certificate, under which OBC reservation is given. He had recently organized a big rally of OBC category in Jalna district. Many Congress leaders are also with him in this campaign.
Chhagan Bhujbal said, I am ready to resign. If asked because of my stand, then I will leave the legislature also. I will follow the orders of my party, of which Ajit Pawar is supreme. Apart from this, the CM is my boss in the cabinet, while BJP is the largest party in the alliance. If they ask me to resign, I will.
On the question of the government’s stance on the Maratha movement issue, Bhujbal said that the government and the judges hearing this case should take a comprehensive view in this matter. While talking about Maratha reservation, it should be kept in mind that injustice should not be done to the OBC community. It is noteworthy that Maratha agitators are also continuously giving ultimatum. Manoj Jarange Patil had ended the movement last month on the condition that if the decision on Maratha quota could not be taken by January 2, then demonstrations would be held on the streets.
