The eagerly awaited moment has arrived for fans of Mohanlal, as the first song from the upcoming film “Malaikottai Vaaliban” has been released. Titled “Punnara Kattile Poovanathil,” the enchanting track is a melodic celebration of love and emotions, setting the tone for what promises to be a captivating cinematic experience.
“Punnara Kattile Poovanathil,” sung by Sreekumar Vaakkiyil and Abhaya Hiranmayi, features poetic lyrics crafted by PS Rafeeq and soul-stirring music composed by Prashantha Pillai. The song release follows the much-celebrated teaser of the film, heightening anticipation among fans.
PS Rafeeq, the lyricist, expressed his sentiments about the song, stating, “The Malayalam movie industry is beautiful and vast. We are proud of our history too. In that, we are fond of the romantic songs too. Though I have an affiliation to all the songs in Malaikottai Vaaliban, this song is even more special to me. It is surely because it is a love song. I am presenting this song ‘Punnara Kattile’ to all Malayalees, who have always wholeheartedly loved and accepted love, pain, and sadness.”
Singer Abhaya Hiranmayi, reflecting on the release, shared, “Today is a very special day in my life. The much-awaited first song of Lijo Jose Pellissery and Mohanlal’s Malaikottai Vaaliban is releasing. A year back when I went to sing one of the songs of my favorite musician Prashanth Pillai, I had no idea about the movie to which I had sung the song. Two months back, Lijo Jose Pellissery called me regarding dubbing for a character, and further he told me, ‘Don’t you wanna hear the song you had sung for ‘Malaikottai Vaaliban,’ it is at that moment that I realized that I have sung for superstar Mohanlal’s movie. The happiest and proudest moment in life. Thanks to Lijo and Prashanth Pillai. Hope everyone accepts this song.”
Directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, “Malaikottai Vaaliban” is a multilingual venture set to release in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. The film boasts an impressive cast, including Mohanlal, Sonalee Kulkarni, Hareesh Peradi, Danish Sait, Manoj Moses, Katha Nandi, and Manikandan Achari. The film is produced by John & Mary Creative, Century Films, Maxlab & Saregama. Cinematography is handled by Madhu Neelakandan. “Malaikottai Vaaliban” is scheduled to hit screens on January 25, 2024, promising audiences a cinematic treat that transcends language barriers.
