Government should pay attention to inflation, poverty, unemployment and backwardness: Mayawati

Lucknow: BSP supremo Mayawati has advised that the government should pay attention to inflation, poverty, unemployment and backwardness. She said that both the Central and State governments are not focusing on the basic problems like inflation, poverty, unemployment and backwardness. On Monday, while wishing the people of the country and the state for the New Year, Mayawati said that for the livelihood of respect, the government will have to ensure only employment guarantee. The government is pursuing narrow political interests, without getting rid of which how is real national interest possible? She further  said that the people of the country must be serious about this in this election year, otherwise BJP’s policies of Sangh appeasement and their narrow nationalism will make the reservation of Bahujans of the country inactive and ineffective. Also, opposing efforts to correct mistakes in caste census etc. will not allow their progress.

Mayawati said that the development of the poor is constantly being hampered due to the ill effects of the casteist, arrogant and non-inclusive government of first Congress and now BJP. Now a pro-people government of BSP is necessary. The BSP chief said that if people do not have money in their pockets to spend, then what is the use of boasting about the development of the country. How is a developed India possible with an army of unemployed? Be it the central government or the state governments, both are not focusing on the basic problems like inflation, poverty, unemployment and backwardness. To divert people’s attention, they are engaged in distributing guarantees, which is less of a solution and more of an illusion.
