Big blow to Aam Aadmi Party; 3 councilors join BJP

Chandigarh: Late on Sunday night, three Aam Aadmi Party councilors Gurcharan Jeet Kala, Neha Musawat and Poonam joined BJP. The three councilors were welcomed into the BJP by BJP national general secretary Vinod Tawde along with former state president Arun Sood by wearing party stripes. There are 36 seats in Chandigarh Municipal Corporation. Here the MP also has the right to vote. Now BJP has 17 councilors instead of 14 and one vote of the BJP MP will be in the party’s account. In such a situation, there are chances of municipal elections being held again. After the resignation of Mayor Sonkar, BJP’s victory in the elections is assured.

Talking about the equation of Chandigarh Municipal Corporation seats, now AAP is left with only 10 votes due to three councilors of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) joining BJP. Whereas Congress has seven councilors and Shiromani Akali Dal has one councillor. Nine councilors are nominated who do not have the right to vote.

Arun Sood said that BJP has absolute majority and the Mayor will remain from BJP. Chandigarh BJP caravan will continue to grow due to public welfare policies. On this occasion, Neha Musawat said that Aam Aadmi Party has failed in its policies. She is joining BJP after being impressed by the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi .Poonam Devi said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the messiah of the poor and Dalits. He has done a lot of development work for every section of the society and he is happy to join BJP. Gurcharan Kala said that he was already in BJP. Were misled by some people. Now he is again in BJP.

BJP will honor them: Vinod Tawde
On the other hand, on AAP councilors joining BJP, the party’s National General Secretary Vinod Tawde said that Chandigarh councilors Poonam Devi, Neha Musawat, Gurcharan Kala have joined BJP today. He is unhappy with his party’s behavior towards him. BJP will respect them and they will help in development.

BJP should stop horse-trading: Prem Garg
Aam Aadmi Party leader Prem Garg expressed grief over two councilors Neha and Poonam joining BJP. He said that it is very unfortunate that our two councilors Neha and Poonam have been bought by BJP. Even for elections like Municipal Corporation Mayor, BJP had to carry out Operation Lotus. It’s really a shame. The courts must take cognizance of this horse-trading by the ruling party using its money bags. Our demand is that the 8 ballot papers fraudulently declared invalid by Anil Masih should be considered valid and your candidate should be declared mayor. Also, the Supreme Court should strongly recommend the implementation of anti-defection law in municipal corporations, where elections are held on party symbols. The mayor should be elected by show of hands.
