Congress has won the Karnataka Rajya Sabha elections. Now there is controversy after the victory of Congress candidate Naseer Hussain. BJP has claimed that after the victory the workers raised slogans of Pakistan Zindabad
Congress has won the Karnataka Rajya Sabha elections. Elections were held for 4 Rajya Sabha seats in the state, out of which 3 went to Congress and one to BJP. Meanwhile, BJP has alleged that Congress workers raised slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad” inside the Assembly while celebrating the victory of party leader Nasir Hussain in the Rajya Sabha elections. However, Congress rejected these claims and said that its workers were only raising slogans for Hussain and not what BJP was claiming.
Soon after the results were declared, BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya shared a video of Congress workers celebrating Hussain’s victory, alleging that slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad” were being raised. Malviya said, “After Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s political secretary Naseer Hussain won the Rajya Sabha elections from Karnataka, slogans of Pakistan Zindabad were raised. Congress’s obsession with Pakistan is dangerous. It is taking India towards partition. We Can’t stand it.
Many other BJP leaders, including Union Minister Rajiv Chandrashekhar and Karnataka leader CT Ravi, shared the video on social media with the same claim.
Rejecting BJP’s claim, Congress leader Naseer Hussain said that he only heard slogans like ‘Naseer Hussain Zindabad’, ‘Congress Party Zindabad’, ‘Naseer Khan Zindabad’ and ‘Naseer Saab Zindabad’. He said, “I did not hear whatever was shown in the media. If I had heard, I would have objected, condemned the statement and demanded necessary action against him.”
Meanwhile, Indian Youth Congress national president Srinivas Biwi rejected BJP’s claims and said that party workers were actually saying “Naseer Saab Zindabad” in the video. Accusing the BJP of spreading lies, Srinivas Biwi said the saffron party was trying to confuse “Naseer Saab Zindabad” with “Pakistan Zindabad”.
