Warangal : Currently some laptops work wirelessly, but they have to use wired chargers to charge them. However, laptop chargers are also going wireless. Researchers at National Institute of Technology (NIT), Warangal have invented a charger that does not require wires.
Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering Department Dr. Suresh Babu Namasi is behind the invention. The invention uses a technology called ‘Vitricity’ which delivers electricity without wires. After seven months of work, he invented this device.
Computers generally work better in AC rooms. In this sequence, Suresh Babu first designed a cooling pad so that the laptop does not overheat even at high temperatures. It also has a rotating fan. A UK patent has been awarded for the invention of ‘Wireless Laptop Charger with Cooling Pad’.
The charging point is set up on this cooling pad. It also has a magnetic port. Suresh Babu explained that electricity is received through magnetic energy from the small transmitter in the power plug to the receiver attached to the laptop port.
It works up to a distance of ten meters. Suresh Babu added that it can be charged in less time. Suresh Babu has previously received one Australian patent and five Indian patents for his other inventions.
