Bangaluru: Youth beaten up for befriending Hindu girl classmate. Eighteen-year-old Waheed’s complaint alleges that the girl’s family members abducted him and beat him up. The incident took place in Karnataka’s Yadgir district.
Police officer Manje Gowda informed that the complaint was received on March 19. The official informed that the case has been registered under IPC 147 (punishment for rioting), 307 (attempt to murder), 504 (deliberate attempt to disturb the peace), 363 (kidnapping) and 506 (criminal intimidation).
Waheed’s complaint states that he is studying with the girl in a private college and are friends with each other. Waheed also alleged that this caused enmity among the girl’s family members. Waheed added that he was abducted and beaten up near the college. Police registered a case based on Waheed’s complaint. A case has been registered against Mallu, Tayappa, Shuvunaik, Rupesh, Ambareesh, Harsha Gowda, Pawan Kumar, Jambu Solanki and Bapu Solanki, all natives of Yadgir. According to the complaint, three relatives of the girl were among the attackers.
