Ahmedabad: There could be a triangular contest on the Anand Lok Sabha seat in central Gujarat if the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) also enters the fray. Despite the alliance between NCP and Congress, Jayant Patel has announced to contest elections from Anand seat. Jayant Patel is a leader of NCP and he has posted on social media in which it is written, ‘We do not know how to betray our friends, hence we will contest the elections on our own.’ If Jayant Patel contests elections from Anand Lok Sabha seat, Congress’s problems will increase. Congress has fielded Amit Chavda, sitting MLA from Anklav, as its candidate from Anand Lok Sabha seat. Whereas BJP has given ticket to sitting MP Mitesh Patel on Anand seat.
