New Delhi: The Congress has hit back at the criticism leveled by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over party president Mallikarjun Kharge ‘mistakenly’ mentioning Article 371 while talking about the abrogation of Article 370. The opposition party also claimed that the Congress President ‘unknowingly revealed the plan of ‘Modi-Shah’ to make changes in Article 371.
BJP had targeted Kharge for taking a dig at the Center on the issue of abrogation of Article 370. Union Home Minister Amit Shah said the ‘Italian culture’ of the Congress should be held responsible for not understanding the concept of India. Shah and other party leaders, including BJP president JP Nadda, shared the video of Kharge’s speech on social media platforms, in which he is targeting the central government over the abrogation of Article 370 in Rajasthan. Then Congress chief Kharge mistakenly mentioned Article 371 instead of Article 370. Responding to BJP’s criticism, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said, in his speech in Jaipur today, President Mallikarjun Kharge mistakenly said that Modi takes credit for the repeal of Article 371. He clearly meant Article 370.
He said, but the truth is that Modi actually repealed Article 371-A related to Nagaland, Article 371-B related to Assam, Article 371-C related to Manipur, Article 371-F related to Sikkim, Article 371-G related to Mizoram. And want to make changes in Article 371-H related to Arunachal Pradesh.
