If NOTA gets maximum votes then elections will be held again

The Supreme Court today rejected the petition demanding matching of EVMs with every VVPAT slip after voting. Along with this, another election related petition has been filed in the court today, on which the Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Election Commission. In this petition filed in the Supreme Court, a demand has been made to direct to make a rule in which If NOTA gets the majority, then the elections held in the particular constituency should be declared canceled and fresh elections should be held in the constituency. It was also said in the petition that a rule should be made in this that those who got less votes than NOTA Candidates be barred from contesting all elections for a period of 5 years and NOTA be treated as a “fictitious candidate”.

The PIL was filed by motivational speaker and writer Shiv Kheda. Advocate Gopal Shankaranarayanan, appearing for Shiv Kheda, Said that it is necessary to consider this matter. He also mentioned the BJP leader’s unopposed victory in Surat Lok Sabha seat of Gujarat and said that he was alone in the race there, hence he won. He said that there was no candidate left, hence NOTA should also be declared a candidate.
