New Delhi: Many regional parties associated with NDA are increasing the headache of BJP in the elections. In Karnataka, the party is embroiled in the sex scandal of its ally JD(S) leaders Prajwal Revanna and HD Revanna. Meanwhile, the party’s ally TDP in Andhra Pradesh has supported Muslim quota in OBC reservation. It is noteworthy that on this issue, the entire BJP including PM Modi is attacking the opposition and is linking it with the dominance of OBCs. In Bihar, all the other allies including JDU are contesting elections depending on BJP. All the allied parties are insisting on holding public meetings of PM Modi and UP CM Yogi Adityanath in their respective seats. BJP’s strategy here is to overcome RJD’s M-Y (Muslim-Yadav) equation with the help of allies. In the 2014 elections, the party had done successful social engineering with LJP and Kushwaha and in the last elections with LJP and JDU.
Naidu is looking after his own interest
TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu has announced four percent reservation for Muslims if voted to power. Actually, Muslim voters are dominant in 40 to 50 assembly seats in the state. Naidu is trying to turn this vote bank in his favor through this announcement.
not the same strategy as before
According to a senior leader of the party, who has been an ally of the party in UP for the last decade, every time before the elections there was a meeting of the NDA to make a joint strategy. Even in the last elections, PM Modi met the alliance leaders at a banquet. This time nothing like this happened. Despite completion of two phases of voting, allies are not being asked for campaigning. There is no joint publicity strategy anywhere. In the first two phases in UP, RLD chief Jayant was seen in a joint public meeting once, similarly in Bihar, CM Nitish was seen in a joint public meeting twice. After this no such coincidence occurred.
