Five more Indians in Israeli cargo ship seized by Iran released

New Delhi: Five Indian crew members of the Israeli cargo ship seized by Iran have been released. The Indian Embassy in Iran informed that they have left for their country. Efforts are on at the diplomatic level to secure the release of all Indians on board. After the escalation of the Iran-Israel conflict, on the 13th of last month, Iran seized the MSC Aries, an Israeli cargo ship in the Strait of Hormour.

There were 25 crew members on board, including one woman. 17 of them were Indians including 4 Malayalees. The shipping company released the only woman, Ann Tessa Joseph, after countries including India began diplomatic efforts to secure the crew’s release. But the uncertainty about the release of the rest continued.
