The company has launched a new set of products in the run-up to Apple ‘s annual Worldwide Developers Conference in June. The company introduced the new M4 processor along with the iPad Pro, iPad Air, Pencil Pro and Magic Keyboard. Before this, iPads were introduced in 2022. There were no new iPad models in 2023. The company has introduced new iPads after a gap of one year. And that’s with some significant upgrades. The new iPads come in 11-inch and 13-inch models. The company claims that these are the thinnest devices Apple has ever released. At 5.1mm thick, the iPad Pro is thinner than the iPod Nano. The 13-inch version of the iPad Pro uses a new technology OLED display called Tandem OLED. It is introduced under the branding Ultra Retina XDR. The M4 chip is four times faster than the M2 chip. The M4 chip will be compatible with Apple’s AI features with a new neural engine and CPU machine learning accelerators. There are storage options up to two TB. Features include four speakers, Thunderbolt USB 4, lidar scanner, and adaptive true tone flash.
The iPad Pro’s cameras have also been revamped. It also includes image capturing and document scanning features. The selfie camera has been moved to the Landscape Edge. It can also be used for Face Time calls to suit professional needs. The 11-inch iPad Pro is priced at Rs 99,900 and the 13-inch model is priced at Rs 129,900. The iPad Pro models, which come in two color variants, can be ordered now. The iPad Air, which will hit the market from next week, was the first to be introduced by Apple at the Let’s Lose event. The mid-range iPad Air also comes in 13-inch and 11-inch models. This is the first time that the Air version will feature a larger screen model. The iPad Air models are equipped with the M2 chip. The 12MP front camera has been moved to the Landscape Edge. It will be available in four colors namely Blue, Purple Gold and Grey. Storage options ranging from 128GB to 1TB are available. The rear camera is 12 MP. Magic Keyboard will be supported. The company says the new M2 iPad Air is 50 percent faster than the iPad Air with the M1 chip and three times faster than the iPad Air with the A12 Bionic chip. The price of the 11-inch model starts at Rs 74,900. The price of 13 inch starts at Rs 79900.
Apple also introduced a revamped Magic Keyboard. This enables the iPad Pro to function like a laptop. The new Magic Keyboard is made of aluminum and has a large trackpad and a function row. The 11-inch version is priced at Rs 27,900 and the 13-inch model is priced at Rs 31,900. Apart from that, Apple introduced a new version of Pen on Tuesday. Apple Pencil Pro has been introduced with new upgrades including haptic feedback system and Find My feature. With Find My feature, the lost pencil can be found with the help of Apple Find My system. Pencil Pro only works with the latest iPad Air and Pro models. It is priced at Rs 11900.
