We give an important part of our self-care routine to our face or hair. But in this routine, along with face and hair, it is very important to take care of your lips. Often people do not consider it very important and forget to take care of the lips, the ill effects of which become apparent when the lips start cracking, turning black or any other problem occurs. Protect your lips from this and include them in your self-care routine.
How to take care of your lips
- Apply hydrating lip balm. Lip balm protects the lips from the harmful effects of external pollution, wind, sunlight, cold or heat. Do not wet the lips with your tongue again and again. Like our skin, lips are not able to retain moisture. Therefore they start becoming dry. In such a situation, many people wet them with their spit, however, this makes the lips even drier. This method of maintaining moisture is wrong. Apply lip balm instead.
- Biting the lips again and again. Many times, when people are under stress, they bite the upper layer of the lips with their teeth. Due to this, sometimes blood comes out from the lips and they become even more dry.
- Lips must be scrubbed with lip scrub once a week. This process removes extra dead cells and makes the lips soft.
- Drink adequate amount of water.
- Use SPF and protect your lips from the ill effects of sunlight.
- Nowadays, overnight lip masks are also applied, which help in keeping the lips soft and pink.
- It also prevents the lips from cracking and maintains their moisture.
- Always use good brand lipstick. Cheap brand lipstick can harm the lips. Also keep in mind its expiry.
- Clean your lipstick thoroughly before sleeping at night.
- Do not use someone else’s lip balm or lipstick. It can spread infection.
- Do not use scented lip products. Lip products with heavy scents or perfumes harm the lips.
