To keep your stomach cool in summer, include curd from breakfast to dinner

If you want to maintain good health and stay away from digestive problems in summer, then make curd a part of your diet. Curd contains nutrients like protein, calcium, riboflavin, vitamin B6 and vitamin B12, which can help in protecting from many health problems. Due to the cooling nature of curd, it is especially advisable to eat it in summers. With this you can make a variety of recipes from breakfast to lunch and even dinner. Here are some of its amazing options.

For breakfast- Curd-Moong Dal Cheela

Ingredients- 1 cup soaked moong dal, 1 small piece grated ginger, 2-3 green chillies, 1/2 tsp turmeric, 1/4 tsp cumin, 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander, salt and oil as per taste.

For filling – 1 cup hung curd, salt, black pepper and roasted cumin as per taste

For Tomato Chutney – 2 tomatoes finely chopped, 1/4 cup jaggery, 8-10 seedless dates, 1/4 tsp black salt (cook until everything thickens)

For lunch- curd koftas

Ingredients- 250 grams paneer, 500 grams hung curd, 4 tablespoons flour, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder.

For gravy –  2 grated onions, 3 tomato puree, salt as per taste, 1/2 tsp red chilli powder, 1/2 tsp dry coriander, 1/2 tsp coriander powder, 1 glass milk, 1/2 small tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp sugar

For garnishing – Green coriander, finely chopped green chillies

Method

  • Mix cheese, curd, flour, baking powder and knead everything.
  • Make small balls of it and place cashew nuts in the middle and make koftas.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Fry the prepared koftas on low flame.
  • Heat the pan. Add desi ghee in it.
  • Cook the onion until it turns golden. Then add tomatoes.
  • Add salt, red chilli, turmeric powder, dry coriander and sugar and cook till it melts.
  • When the masala is fried and starts releasing oil, add milk to it and when it boils, add the koftas and remove from flame.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and green chillies and serve.

Evening Snacks- Dahi Ke Kebabs

Ingredients- 1/2 kg hung curd, 1 1/4 cup cottage cheese lightly mashed, 10 coarsely ground cashew nuts, 1/4 cup onion finely chopped, 1 1/2 tsp ginger grated, 2 green chillies finely chopped, 1/4 tsp garam masala, 3 tbsp green coriander finely chopped, salt as per taste

Other ingredients- 1/2 cup bread crumbs, 2-3 tbsp roasted gram flour and oil

Method

  • Add cottage cheese, bread crumbs, gram flour, onion, garam masala, ginger, salt, green chilli and green coriander to the curd and mash it well to make tikkis.
  • Heat oil and fry them until they turn golden.
  • Serve with green and red chutney.

For dinner- mixed fruit yogurt

Ingredients- 1 cup mixed fruits (grapes, banana, apple, peach), 5-6 walnuts soaked overnight, 1 cup curd, tsp chia/faluda seeds, 1 tbsp sugar or tbsp honey.

Method

  • Slice grapes, apples, peaches and bananas.
  • Add sugar candy/honey and walnuts to the curd and grind it in a mixer.
  • Add chopped fruits and chia seeds to it.
  • If you want, you can also add ice cubes in it.
