New Delhi: During the Lok Sabha elections, many political parties including BJP and Congress made objectionable remarks in election rallies. The Election Commission has also expressed concern over these comments. Meanwhile, the Commission has requested the top leaders of political parties to set good examples in the campaign in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
The Election Commission also said that it is the responsibility of the top leaders of the party to avoid making controversial comments. They said that it has disposed of more than 90 percent of the complaints and no major complaints are pending from the parties. They further informed that almost two months have been completed since the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). Campaigning is being done in the constituency by various political parties and candidates. There have been no incidents of violence in most of the states of the country. At the same time, voting is taking place without any inducement to the voters.
