Mumbai: After creating a lot of political ruckus over the possibility of EVM manipulation, the Mumbai-based newspaper called its report wrong. It also expressed regret over it.
A report published a day earlier claimed that Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Waikar’s relative used a phone in the polling booth, the OTP received on which unlocked the EVM.
On Monday, the newspaper published a clarification on its front page along with the news of the statement from the Election Commission. It was written that the report published about the EVM OTP was wrong. On this entire episode, former Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam said, I demand similar accountability from Rahul Gandhi, Prashant Bhushan and other leaders of the opposition alliance India for promoting misinformation. Aditya Thackeray used the same news to spread false discussions, which has had adverse consequences. All of them should apologize.
