New Delhi: After the results of the Lok Sabha elections, political parties across the country are preparing their strategy by holding internal meetings. In this connection, on Monday, top Congress leaders held a meeting at the residence of party president Mallikarjun Kharge and decided on Rahul Gandhi’s parliamentary seat.
After the meeting, Kharge said that Rahul Gandhi will leave the Wayanad seat and keep Rae Bareli with himself. After this, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will be the Congress candidate from Wayanad Lok Sabha seat. Along with Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and KC Venugopal also attended this meeting.
While talking to the media, Kharge said that we all decided in the meeting that Rahul Gandhi will keep the Rae Bareli seat with him, because Rae Bareli has been very close to him even before. He has a connection with that family and has been fighting from there for generations. Therefore, the people there and the party people also say that he should keep the Rae Bareli seat with him.
Rahul has also received the love of the people of Wayanad. They want Rahul to stay in Wayanad, but the law does not allow this. Therefore, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will contest from Wayanad seat.
Addressing the media after the meeting, Priyanka said that I am very happy with this decision. It will be a matter of pride for me to represent Wayanad. I will try to be a good representative. I have an old relationship with Rae Bareli and I have worked a lot for Rae Bareli and Amethi. I will also help Bhaiya in Rae Bareli. Both of us will also help each other in Wayanad and Rae Bareli. This meeting of the Congress high command was organized regarding the confusion over Rahul Gandhi leaving Rae Bareli or Wayanad seat. In this meeting, there is a possibility of discussion about the strategy of Congress in the session.
