Chennai: There was a panic at the Chennai International Airport when a bomb threat was received through an email. Police said that the departure of a Dubai-bound flight carrying 286 passengers from Chennai International Airport was delayed on Tuesday due to a hoax bomb threat.
Police said security agencies conducted a thorough check of the international flight scheduled to depart at around 10.30 am on Tuesday after receiving an email warning of a bomb on board the plane. They said the investigation revealed that the threat was a hoax and the flight has been cleared to proceed to its destination.
