After Amritpal, now his associate Kulwant Singh will contest the by-election from jail

Kulwant Singh, who is lodged in Dibrugarh jail in Assam under NSA, will contest the assembly by-election in Punjab. Kulwant has decided to contest the by-election from Barnala assembly seat. His cousin Maha Singh has given this information. Aam Aadmi Party’s Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer was the MLA from Barnala assembly seat. After being elected MP from Sangrur Lok Sabha seat in the recent Lok Sabha elections, he resigned from the membership of the assembly. After this, by-election is to be held on Barnala assembly seat.

Kulwant Singh’s cousin Maha Singh said that I spoke to Kulwant Singh on the phone on Friday. During this time he told about his decision to contest the Barnala by-election while in jail. We will fully support him. Kulwant Singh has held the post of clerk in Punjab State Power Corporation Limited. He was arrested on charges of supporting Khalistan supporter Amritpal Singh. After his arrest, NSA was imposed on him and since then he is lodged in Dibrugarh jail in Assam.
Apart from Kulwant Singh, Bhagwant Singh alias Prime Minister Bajeke, who is lodged in Dibrugarh jail, has also announced to contest the election. Bajeke’s minor son has announced to contest the by-election for his father from Gidderbaha assembly seat of Muktsar district.
