Bhopal: Mohan Cabinet Expansion: Six-time Congress MLA from Vijaypur (Morena) Ramniwas Rawat, who joined BJP in the Lok Sabha elections, was made the 19th cabinet minister on Monday on the 68th day of the Mohan government. This is the first time in the state that someone was sworn in twice in 20 minutes. Rawat took oath by saying Rajya Mantri instead of State Minister. This raised doubts about his being a cabinet minister. When this mistake was caught, Governor Mangubhai Patel administered the oath to Rawat as a cabinet minister.
Before the oath, Congress was seen attacking Rawat and later BJP. Vivek Tankha wrote on X, ‘Ramniwas ji, it is your decision which party you want to be a member of. It would have been better if you had resigned from the post of MLA elected from Congress and then become a minister.’ In the evening, Rawat clarified that he had sent his resignation to the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat on July 5. AP Singh, Principal Secretary of the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat, said that Rawat’s resignation was received on Monday evening, which was accepted by the Speaker.
After Ramniwas Rawat took oath as a cabinet minister, MP CM Dr. Mohan Yadav congratulated him. The CM said, a new member has arrived in the cabinet. Rawat has been active in public life for a long time. He is providing effective representation to a district like Sheopur in Chambal region which has potential for development. As a cabinet minister, the entire cabinet will benefit from his experience.
