Rahul Gandhi appeared in court in defamation case

Sultanpur: In the defamation case of Home Minister Amit Shah, today, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi appeared in the MPMLA court of Sultanpur. During this, while recording his statement in the court, he said that the allegations leveled against him are false. Naveen Jha had filed a complaint against this statement of Rahul Gandhi in Ranchi Civil Court, on which the court took cognizance. Rahul Gandhi has filed a petition in the High Court to cancel it. 

 Rahul Gandhi’s lawyer had said that he is not able to reach due to the Lok Sabha session. He should be given a last chance. The court had then given the date of July 26. The court had said that Rahul should appear personally. On Rahul’s appearance, UP Congress President Ajay Rai said that Rahul is being harassed, but we will not give up. Congress is fighting strongly and will fight strongly. BJP leader Vijay Mishra had filed a case in Sultanpur accusing Rahul Gandhi of defamation over his alleged statement on Amit Shah. In December 2023, the court had also issued a non-bailable warrant against Rahul Gandhi.
