Three students staged a coup in Bangladesh and became the face of the movement

Dhaka: There was a movement going on against reservation in Bangladesh for many days. When the Hasina government showed strictness against this movement, the movement to remove her from power intensified. Eventually the situation worsened so much that Sheikh Hasina had to resign from the post of PM and leave the country.

Currently she is in India and is trying to go to Britain, Finland from here. The three students who gave impetus to this movement are Nahid Islam, Asif Mahmud and Abu Bakar Majumdar. All three study in Dhaka University and were the leaders of the movement against reservation.

According to media reports, all three were kidnapped on 19 July. After this, they were interrogated rigorously and also tortured. Then they were released on 26 July. After this, these people again took the movement forward and carried out a coup in about ten days. Now the command is in the hands of the army.

The process of formation of the interim government is going on, in which these three student leaders will also play an important role. The three students released a video today and announced that the interim government will be headed by Dr. Yunus, who is a Nobel Prize winning economist.

Talking about the biggest face of the movement, Nahid Islam, he is a student of sociology at Dhaka University. He is the leader of the movement named Students Against Discrimination Movement. Under the banner of SADM, the students had demanded that the quota system in Bangladesh be changed. Under this, 30 percent reservation is given to the relatives of those who participated in the Bangladesh Liberation War.

In Bangladesh, a total of 56 percent reservation is available in first and second class jobs. This system has been described as discriminatory and used for political gain. Nahid Islam’s associate Asif Mahmud is a student of linguistics at Dhaka University. Abu Bakar Majumdar is also studying at Dhaka University. He is a student of geography and is engaged in changing the history of Bangladesh.
