Now Modi’s Hanuman has adopted the opposition’s tune on lateral entry, will NDA go on the back foot again?

On the issue of lateral entry, not only the opposition but even the BJP’s own people are seen standing against it. BJP’s ally Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) president and Union Minister Chirag Paswan has called lateral entry completely wrong and said that he is planning to raise this issue before the government.

Clarifying his party’s stand on the issue of lateral entry, he said that LJP (RV) is not in favour of such appointments at all. He said, ‘Wherever government appointments are made, reservation provisions should be followed. The way this matter has come up, it is a matter of concern for him because his party is in alliance with the government and has a platform to bring these issues to the fore.’

Hajipur MP Chirag Paswan said, ‘My party’s stand on such appointments is very clear, wherever government appointments are made, reservation provisions should be followed. We are not in favour of this at all. This is completely wrong. I will raise this issue before the government.’

It is worth noting that UPSC has issued an advertisement on August 17 to recruit 45 posts in 24 ministries of the central government under lateral entry, which the opposition is opposing. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi condemned the lateral entry and said that through this recruitment process, reservation of SC, ST, OBC category is being openly snatched away and they are being deprived of higher posts.
