Gujarat (India): In a shocking incident from Rajkot, Gujarat, a son brutally murdered his own mother and then posted a haunting status on Instagram that read, “Sorry mom, I kill you, I miss you, Om Shanti.” This heart-wrenching tale has left the community in disbelief, shaking the very foundations of what many consider to be the most sacred relationship—the bond between a mother and her child.
The tragic incident unfolded on Thursday in a government quarter on University Road in Rajkot. The accused, Nilesh Gosai, strangled his 48-year-old mother, Jyotiben Gosai, to death. After committing the heinous act, Nilesh uploaded a photo of his mother on Instagram, accompanied by a chilling confession. The post has since shocked everyone who came across it, raising questions about the circumstances that led to such a brutal act.
Rajkot West Zone ACP Radhika Bhardwaj provided details of the incident, revealing that the police were alerted by a man named Bharat, a friend of Nilesh, who informed them about the murder. When police arrived at the scene, they found Jyotiben’s lifeless body. Upon interrogation, Nilesh confessed to the crime, stating that he initially attempted to stab his mother, but when she resisted and began bleeding, he suffocated her using a blanket.
Further investigation uncovered that Jyotiben had been suffering from mental illness for many years, which often led to violent outbursts and frequent arguments between her and her son. On the day of the incident, another such altercation took a tragic turn. Nilesh’s father, who divorced Jyotiben nearly 20 years ago, along with their other children, refused to claim the body or even file a complaint. They distanced themselves entirely from the incident, leaving the police to register the case and arrange for the last rites.
