In Lakhimpur Kheri district of UP, the brother of the BJP district president committed suicide by shooting himself. After the news of suicide, there was a stir in the police department. The police immediately reached the spot and took the body in custody and sent it for post-mortem. The reason for the suicide is not known. The police is investigating the matter.
58-year-old Govind Singh, the elder brother of BJP district president Sunil Singh, who lived in the city’s Mohalla Ramnagar, used to run a flour mill in a part of the house. It is said that on Thursday evening when he was alone in the factory, he shot himself. The bullet hit his head and he died on the spot. Hearing the sound of firing, the family members reached the spot. Govind Singh’s body was lying on the floor soaked in blood.
The weapon was found lying near his body. On receiving the information, CO Sadar Ramesh Tiwari, Kotwali in-charge Ambar Singh reached the spot and took the body in their custody. It could not be clear why Govind Singh took this step. The forensic team also reached the spot. CO Ramesh Tiwari said that prima facie the case seems to be of suicide. Something can be said only after the post-mortem report.

Why he took this step remains a mystery. On the other hand, family members say that he was suffering from many physical problems including neuro. Preparations for post-mortem of his body have been started at night itself. BJP District President Sunil Singh and his brother Govind Singh lived in the same house. Govind Singh’s family consisted of his wife, son and a daughter. He was away from politics but was friendly with everyone. He had set up a flour mill in a part of the house. He used to stay there the whole day.
People told that on Thursday afternoon, after having lunch at home, he came to the factory and was sitting there when suddenly the sound of a gunshot was heard. When the family members and factory workers came running, Govind’s body was lying there soaked in blood. Everyone was shocked to see this situation. His mother fainted after seeing the body. The whole family started crying and wailing. Sunil Singh started taking care of everyone. People related to the family told that Govind Singh was suffering from many physical problems, but no one had thought that he would take such a step.
On the other hand, on receiving the information of this accident, Gola MLA Aman Giri, BJP District Vice President and Municipal Council President Vijay Shukla Rinku, Ashu Mishra, Ravindra Katiyar, Praful Bajpai Betu and many others reached there. CO Ramesh Tiwari said that prima facie it seems to be a case of suicide. The reason is not clear yet. Preparations are being made to conduct the postmortem of the body at night itself.
