New Delhi:The growing obsession with creating viral content, often for the sake of selfies, reels, and vlogs, has led many to engage in dangerous acts. One such incident, recently shared on social media, has caused widespread concern and criticism. A video showing a woman sitting precariously on the edge of an open well with a child dangling from her leg has sparked outrage among viewers.
The clip, initially posted on X, shows the woman lip-syncing to a song while sitting at the very edge of the well. The child, who appears to be very young, is seen clinging to her leg, with his body hanging dangerously over the open water. The disturbing nature of the video has left social media users both shocked and angered.
Upon its release, the video quickly gained traction and was widely condemned. The user @RawAndRealMan sarcastically shared the clip with the caption, “Family court in custody case: Only mother can love child more. Even more than father,” highlighting the potential risk to the child involved.
The identities of the woman and child remain unknown, and the relationship between them has not been established. However, the lack of information did not stop users from expressing their frustration and concern over the stunt. Many criticized the woman for needlessly risking the child’s life, with some calling for legal action.
The video sparked a flurry of comments, with users questioning the rationale behind such a dangerous stunt. One user expressed disbelief, writing, “Only for views, people are willing to risk their own child’s life. So ridiculous.” Another questioned the woman’s mental state, stating, “What’s wrong with these types of people? They need treatment in mental hospitals.”
Other users were more direct in calling for repercussions. “She should be in jail,” one comment read, while another tagged the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, asking if any legal action would be taken against the woman.
Some viewers were horrified to the point of wanting to report the incident. One comment included a link to the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights’ complaint platform, urging others to take action and report the video. “This is absolutely risking the life of the kid, and for what?” the user questioned.
With growing concerns about the impact of social media on people’s judgment, another user added, “Reels are destroying human brains.”
