Garland, TX – Shibu Samuel, a long-time resident and active community leader, has officially announced his candidacy for Mayor of Garland. Samuel brings over 28 years of experience as an Ordained Bishop, counselor, writer, and international speaker. At present under Church of God World Mission He his a Missionary to Asia, National Education Director for Nepal, and South Asia Coordinator for Unreached People Groups.
In Garland, Samuel has served six years on the Community Multicultural Commission (When he completed his six years term in Community Multicultural Commission, he received appreciation token award from Mayor), Garland Youth Leadership Committee, and Garland Prayer Breakfast Committee. He also Graduated 34th batch Leadership Garland Training. At present with City of Garland he is a member of the Environmental Community Advisory Board since 2021 and currently serves on both the Environmental Community Advisory Board and the Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Board. His community involvement extends to global roles, including serving as Global Joint Treasurer of the World Malayalee Council and as a board member of Serving Orphans Worldwide. Samuel is also an entrepreneur, managing several businesses in the U.S. , United Arab Emirates & India with his wife, Susan, and their three children.
Samuel’s campaign focuses on making Garland a safe and clean city. He promises to support the local police and fire departments and invest in infrastructure to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents. He also plans to attract quality businesses to Garland, so residents don’t need to travel to nearby towns for their needs.
