New York: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the Indian community in New York, redefined AI, not as artificial intelligence, but as “American Indians,” celebrating the pivotal role played by the Indian diaspora in strengthening India-US ties. Speaking at the ‘Modi and US’ event in Long Island, PM Modi remarked, “For me, AI means American Indians. This is the spirit that is taking India-US relations to a new height.”
The Prime Minister was greeted with enthusiastic chants of “Modi, Modi” by the Indian community. He began his address with a resounding “Bharat Mata ki Jai,” drawing cheers from the crowd. PM Modi emphasized the global recognition of Indian culture, saying, “Namaste has become global from local now,” highlighting how the traditional Indian greeting has gained international acceptance.
PM Modi praised the Indian diaspora for their significant contributions to the growing bond between India and the United States. He said, “You have connected India to America and America to India. Your skills, talent, and commitment know no bounds. Even though you have traveled overseas, no sea is deep enough to distance you from India.” His message was met with applause, underlining the strong connection the Indian community feels toward their homeland.
The atmosphere at Nassau Coliseum was electric as Indian-Americans, holding posters in multiple languages, welcomed the Prime Minister. Traditional Indian dance performances by over 500 artists added a cultural flair to the event, showcasing the rich heritage of India.
