Calicut/Kerala: Dr Hussain Saquafi, Samasta Kerala Central Mushavara member and Pro-Chancellor of Jamia Markaz represented India at the 20th Russian Muslim International Forum held in Moscow. The event was organized under the theme ‘Path of Peace: Dialogues of Coexistence,’ in association with the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation and the Council of Muftis of Russia.
Dr Hussain Saquafi was delegating the Grand Mufti of India, Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad at the conference, joining Muslim leaders, scholars, and dignitaries worldwide. This marks the second time Dr. Hussain Saquafi has represented India at the forum, reinforcing his vital role in international Islamic dialogue.
The event was held as part of the 1200th birth anniversary of Imam Tirmidhi, a renowned scholar and writer in Islamic texts and the 200th founding anniversary of the Moscow Historical Mosque. The conference brought together muftis, heads of religious organizations, academic leaders, and diplomatic representatives from over 60 regions of the Russian Federation and various countries worldwide.
A key highlight of the forum was the honouring of Sheikh Ravil Zainuddin, Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation, who celebrated 40 years of service in Islamic education.
Twaha Saquafi Mannuthi, International Relations Officer of Jamia Markaz, also attended the conference, further strengthening India’s ties with global Islamic institutions. The forum promoted interfaith dialogue and highlighted the importance of peaceful coexistence across cultures and communities.
